#running4rob One Mile Virtual Run

This event, #running4rob One Mile Virtual Run, is to create a memorial fund through the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation (CRCF) to continue the passion and dedication Rob Liebers showed to young track and field and cross country athletes.  There is a $10 registration fee with all proceeds benefiting memorial fund. For another $10, you can add a race t-shirt, that can be picked up at Fresh Press Studios (100 North Main Street in Jamestown, NY).  Race T-shirts can also mailed for $15.  Please chose option during registration check out.  Any additional donations will be very much welcomed, directly the the memorial fund. The virtual race will take place on Father's Day Weekend, June 19-20, 2021.  You can run on your own, join friends, or put together a group run in honor of Rob. Through the Race Joy App you can run and receive text and voice message through your phone.   You can also submit your time via text or your RSU profile.  

A devoted father and mentor to so many, a compassionate attorney and dedicated community member, and a talented and committed runner can help tell the story of Rob. But the portrayal and depiction of Rob goes much deeper and farther than what many of us see on the surface. Rob's kind heart, amazing spirit, sincere character, and motivation towards everyone that has ever crossed his path is what makes him the person he is. As many already know, Rob was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, ALK-negative anaplastic large cell lymphoma, in July of 2018. He spent the last year of his life battling through the challenges and life-changing moments of this disease. 

While Rob's life finish early, it is our turn to take the baton and continue his legacy of helping others achieve their potential. This is the moment we all come together and remember of a truly great man that never let us down.
