Miles for Murray

Thank you so much for participating in our first annual 5K race in honor of Mr. Murray.  If you are part of our student, faculty, or staff at Little Falls, then you will be able to come up to the school on Saturday, June 19th and complete the race on the cross country course.  The race will begin at 9 am.  It is a run/walk, so do not get discouraged if you are not "a runner."  If you are participating in our fully virtual 5K race, then you can complete this at any time, and any place that you can complete the run.  We appreciate your donation and your time.  Hopefully next year we will be able to participate in this all together!

Mr. Murray was our 8th grade ELA teacher who passed away during the 2020-2021 school year.  There are so many things that we could mention about this fantastic teacher and coach, but here is just a small bit of information about who he was:

Mr. Murray was a man who never failed to see something special in every single student who walked through his door. In his 12 years of teaching at LFMS, every student felt encouraged and capable to reach their highest potential thanks to his support. No matter what, he always pushed his students to go as far as they could during their short time in eighth grade. He founded many clubs, such as the chess club, and coached Cross Country and Track, furthering the idea of pushing people to their highest potential. No matter who you were, Mr. Murray was capable of finding what makes YOU special, and would drop everything to help you see that, in a heartbeat.

This 5k race will be open for anyone who would like to run in his honor, and support a great cause.  The proceeds that are raised will go to the first, annual scholarship fund that will be awarded to two high school students who have participated in track and field and/or cross country, and will fund field trips for the middle school students.
