The Malverne 5K run-walk for education, organized by the Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation (MEFF) takes place on October 15th. The net proceeds of the 5K run go to the MEFF, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization supporting youth programs in the Malverne school district. The packet pickup and day-of-run registration take place at the Malverne high school at 7:45 a.m. (school located east of Ocean Ave.).
The main event, 5K run, is preceded by a fun run (300 meters) for kids of age 10 and under. The start of the kids run is at the intersection of Wicks Ln and N. Cambridge St. Kids (and their parents) run opposite the 5K course to the start of the 5K run. The fun run starts at 8:30.
The Malverne 5K run and walk starts at 9:00 at Wicks Lane next to the H.T. Herber middle school gym (75 Ocean Ave). The 5K course is winding through the streets of Malverne, Lynbrook, and Lakeview. Please, do not park on Wicks Lane, the start location and course direction!
Registration and Fee
Registration is open. Students up to age 18 pay $5 (displayed at the checkout) + $1 processing fee. Adults, 19 and up, pay $20 + $2.50 processing fee online. After October 13, the fee increases to $25 (day-of-race registration). Students fee remains the same, $5 (plus processing fee). The online registration closes on October 13.

Mail-in form registration fee is $20, $5 youth. $25 and $5 youth, after October 13. Make checks payable to MEFF.
The awards are not duplicated.
Each participant gets a medal.
Top 3 males/females overall;
Age groups: male/female 11 and under, 12–14, 15–19, and then every 5 years up to age 94, master (40+), senior master (60+).
