Start the New Year right - with a Half-Marathon!

The Sri Chinmoy New Year's Day Half-Marathon features a scenic, flat and fast loop around historic Flushing Meadows Corona Park.  9AM start.

Free parking, bag check, aid stations every mile, custom race shirts, custom finisher medals, free finisher photos, and our famous post-race pancake breakfast!

$40 through Dec. 4
$50 through Dec. 22
$60 through Dec. 30, 5PM
$70 race-day, 8:00-8:30am, CASH ONLY

Entries cannot be transferred to another person.

 

THE COURSE

A scenic, "pancake flat" and fast USATF certified 1.27-mile loop starting near the intersection of Ave. of Commerce and Ave. of Progress, passing the iconic World's Fair Unisphere, Queens Museum of Art and Fountain of the Planets.
Half-Marathon = one 0.35-mile start loop + ten 1.27-mile loops

 

RACE PACKET SHIPPING

Choose Packet Shipping when registering ($5.95), to avoid the lines on race day and have your shirt and bib delivered to your door before the race. Available through Dec. 19.  Packets will ship out en masse on Dec. 21.

Otherwise, packet pickup is available at the race site from 8-8:45AM.

 

RACE SHIRTS

Race shirts guaranteed for all participants registered by December 19.  Sizes are:
Women's Fitted Small, Medium, Large, X-Large
Unisex X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large

Men’s and Women’s awards categories:

Under 50: Top 3
50-59: Top 2
60 & over: First Place

Awards Ceremony at 11:30AM

Custom medals for all finishers!

 

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

Hot pancakes are even more enjoyable when they’re earned, and we’re cooking them up fresh for everyone on race day!

 

TIME LIMITS

3 hours, or a 13:45/mile minimum pace. (12 noon cutoff)

 

AGE RESTRICTIONS

Participants must be 16 years or older as of race-day to compete.

DIRECTIONS

Please review the directions on our race page before heading to the park.  Flushing Meadows Corona Park is a HUGE park, it's easy to get lost!

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

We live in uncertain times.  If we are forced to cancel this event owing to circumstances beyond our control, including, but not limited to:

New or modified COVID-19 regulations/restrictions imposed by park officials or city or state governments;
Unsafe conditions in the park, such as excessive snow or ice on the roadways, or other weather related conditions;
the event will be converted to a virtual one.  Registered participants will still receive race shirts and finisher medals in the mail upon completion of the virtual race, and trophies will be mailed to winners as per the awards breakdown above.
