McGarry for the People Campaign Fund Run

I'm very excited to co-host this event in honor of my good pal Ryan McGarry.  Ryan and I have been friends since elementary school, co-captains of our high school cross country team, and have run countless miles together over the years.  Personally, I'm excited that Ryan is running for office because I know his values and trust his integrity.  He seeks office for the right reasons, because he cares about his neighbors and community, not out of any misguided desire for power or partisanship.  I know he'll bring some humanity and sensibleness to the position.

As a member of the running community, Ryan's campaign is important because we have the opportunity to elect a public official who understands our community.  Aside from his participation as a member of Milltown Running, he was instrumental in the founding of the Keith Nintzel Memorial 5k.  Later, Ryan used that experience to establish the Suffolk County Marathon while working in the Suffolk County Executive’s Office.  Through the marathon and his continued involvement in the Veterans Run Series he's used running to help raise over $1 million dollars for local veteran services, and offered advice and help to numerous other local charity events.  

Please join us on October 17th and meet Ryan where a runner is most comfortable: on the roads for a few miles.  Wish him a happy birthday while you're there!
