Description

The 2024 5K FWD for Recovery is the North Country’s premiere event to celebrate recovery and support substance use prevention. Champlain Valley Family Center is excited to host the 9th annual 5K FWD for Recovery Walk/Run on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Plattsburgh City Beach. Since 1982, CVFC has been providing substance use prevention and treatment services throughout Clinton County.

The 5KFWD for Recovery helps us to:
 Raise awareness of substance use prevention and treatment
 Celebrate recovery
 Raise funds to support our substance use prevention services
 Fund summer programming for Clinton County youth


On the day of the race, check-in will begin at 8:00am with the race beginning at 9:15am.   The registration fee for the 5K FWD for Recovery is $25 and can be done online.  Same-day and on- site registration is $30.  Registration for the race includes a 5K FWD t-shirt, race packet and bib number.  There is no registration fee for school age youth. They must register and be accompanied by an parent/guardian. Registration will continue up to the day of the event – shirt sizes are not guaranteed (shirts are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis).  Everyone who participates will receive a 5K FWD medal. Prizes will also be awarded to the top overall male and female runner. Not a runner?  Plan on walking the course or sponsor a runner.  Become a race sponsor. Make a donation using the button above or at cvfamilycenter.org. Cheer on a racer.  There is something for everyone!  The fee for youth racers under the age of 17 will be waived. Parents/custodians must be present for the run.

CVFC is a community-based, non-profit agency, licensed through the NYS Office of Addiction Services and supports to provide substance use treatment services for residents of Clinton County. CVFC also provides education, prevention services and specialized youth programs toprevent and/or minimize the damage caused by alcoholism and substance abuse.
