Miles for MOMS

Meals on Main Street (MOMS) is excited to host our THIRD Community Run and Walk! Join us on Sunday, October 15 - ALL ABILITIES ARE WELCOME. 

This year we will feature a NEW 5K COURSE 5k. It will bring you through the downtown section of Port Chester and around our unique neighborhoods.  You can run or walk the timed 3.11 miles and be eligible for our new, age group prizes.  

We will again offer  our 1.5 mile untimed "Fun Run and Walk" - a GREAT event for families, friends, or on your own.  

NEW THIS YEAR- A kids scamper before the run/walk at 8:15am. It will take place in the park area near Colony Grill. Designed for 7 yrs & under only. 

We encourage EVERYONE and all abilities to come together in support of the fantastic Meals on Main St. and help serve the community and beyond.

"Our mission statement is  'Building Community Through Food'. It sums up our all-inclusive approach to addressing and solving the problem of food insecurity. A community that comes together and works together can make a huge impact together.  We strive to bring businesses, schools, government agencies and non-profits together to function as a collaborative food network.

We are continue to seek new ways to bring our talents and imaginations to the table to feed the community, source healthy fresh food, and share our
innovative approaches with others!  Only together can we tackle food insecurity and eliminate the stigma of for those who need help."

New this year- our race partner Colony Grill will be donating gift cards to the top, timed 5k participants. 

AWARDS- ONLY PARTICIPANTS in the COMPUTER TIMED 5K ARE ELIGIBLE: A variety of Gift cards, special prizes and other items will be given out after the event.

COLONY GRILL PREMIER GIFT CARD AWARDS

Overall top three male & female finishers $100, $50, $25 gift cards

The top M & F in each age group will receive $10 COLONY GRILL gift cards.

Other gift cards and prizes will be awarded to the second place M & F in age groups-

9 & under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ 

COURSES- Our new 5k (3.11mi) "City Route" will be traveling on the roads in and around downtown Port Chester. Thanks to the cooperation and support of our Police you will be moving safely through the neighborhoods and cheered on by residents. The start and finish will be in the Colony Grill parking lot. Our untimed 1.5 mile family friendly run & walk is a perfectly flat, out and back route. It will take you on Main St to the turn around at the Meals on Main St building. You can easily push a baby stroller (little tykes in the stroller are free).

This is a combined total of individual and family-style meals prepared in our kitchen, and in partnership with restaurants, culinary programs and caterers, along with the equivalent number of meals provided through our pantry partners.

30+ YEARS SERVING OUR COMMUNITIES
For the first 20 years, we operated as part of a church outreach program, but in the 10 years since, as an independent 501(c)3 serving Port Chester and the surrounding communities.

230k NUMBER OF PEOPLE IMPACTED PER YEAR
By partnering with other agencies in Port Chester, including The Salvation Army and The Carver Center, and now additional agencies throughout Westchester County, we have managed to reach many more people in need, most multiple times a month during the pandemic and now weekly.

LAST YEAR-

DURING THE THANKSGIVING SEASON  ALONE- MEALS ON MAIN PROVIDED ENOUGH FOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY TO FILL OVER FIFTEEEN TRACTOR TRAILERS.
