Join us for the 43rd Annual Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club Dutchess County Classic. This event takes place on the William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail and incorporates the Walkway Over the Hudson into the half & full marathons.  

2021 events will include a Full Marathon, Half Marathon as well as a 5K.  Please note that pre-registration is required, there will be no race day registration.  For those who do not wish to register online, there will be in-person registration at Fleet Feet from 9/13-9/18 (assuming spaces are still available).  

The flat, off-road, scenic courses are great for seasoned athletes and first timers alike. Showcasing the beauty of the Hudson Valley, including gorgeous Hudson River views. This is a professionally timed race and will include t-shirts for pre-registered runners and finisher medals for the ALL distances!  

Start Location & Times 

All races will start and end at Dutchess Community College (53 Pendell Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601).  Due to the large volume of runners expected, area road closures and the likelihood for congestion during parking, it is recommended that you arrive at the race at least an hour before your race start time even if you already have your bib.

8:00am:  5K 

Registration Costs (MHRRC Members will receive a $5 discount): 

Half Marathon:
Participants 1-250 = $50
Participants 251-500 = $60
Participants 501-750 = $65
Participants 751-1000 = $70
Participants 1,000+ = $75

Full Marathon:
Participants 1-50 = $60
Participants 51-100 = $70
Participants 101-200 = $75
Participants 201-300 = $80
Participants 301+ = $85

5K (Capped at 375 Participants):  
Participants 1-250 = $25
Participants 251-500 = $30

Full Marathon Wheel:  $60
Half Marathon Wheel:  $50 

Courses:  All races will start and end at Dutchess Community College (53 Pendell Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601).  Both the half & full marathons will enter the Hudson Valley Rail Trail via the Morgan Lake Trailhead and will include an out & back over the Walkway Over the Hudson and then another out & back on the Hudson Valley Rail Trail heading East from the Morgan Lake Trailhead. 

The 5K event is an Eastward bound out and back from the Morgan Lake Trailhead and will not cross the Walkway Over the Hudson. 

The 5K, half marathon and full marathon courses are USATF certified and the full marathon is a Boston qualifier. 

Giveaways & Prizes:
There will be giveaway shirts (image to be released once available) for all 5K, half marathon & full marathon participants who register before Sunday, August 15th.  All participants will receive finisher medals, even 5K participants which is new this year!  Prizes will be given for the top 3 finishers in each age group (10 year age groups).

Bib Pickup & In-Person Registration Details (PLEASE READ THIS): 
Bib/shirt pick-up and in-person registration will take place from Monday 9/13 through Saturday 9/18 at Fleet Feet Poughkeepsie, Shoppes at South Hills, 1895 South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.  Bib pickup hours are Mon-Fri 10am-7pm & Sat 10am-6pm during those dates ONLY.  Please do not try to pick-up your bib or shirt or contact Fleet Feet with race related questions outside of these dates.  

All bibs for all races will be available for pickup at Fleet Feet during the designated pick-up times (above) and you will be able to pickup for a friend or family member without having to call the store first.  Race confirmations are not necessary, Fleet Feet will have the list of all registered runners . They can also help with race swaps during the designated pickup times of 9/13-9/18.  Lastly, if you register online from 9/13-9/18 (assuming the races are not sold out), you may stop into Fleet Feet (no need to call first) and they will be able to immediately assign you a bib.  

If you are coming from out of town, we recommend having your bib & shirt mailed as there will not be morning of pick-up.  Shirts & bibs for those who select shipping will be mailed by Monday 9/13.  

All registered runners will receive an email by Saturday 9/11 with all of the pertinent details of the pickup, race logistics and everything else you need to know.  Please try to avoid emailing us asking details that will be sent out to all participants by that date.  

Refunds, Bib Transfers & Race Swaps: 
Refunds will not be issued under any circumstances.  Please do not register until you are certain that you plan to participate.  Bib transfers will not be allowed. 

Selling your entry, or running the race under someone else's entry will result in disqualification from this year’s race and exclusion from future events.  Switching between races (i.e. moving from the half marathon to the 5K) is allowed however you will be required to pay any cost differences if applicable and no refunds will be given for switching to a less expensive race. Runners may register for only one race.

Runners must maintain a pace of at least 15 minutes or better.  

For the full marathon and half marathon, all participants must be at least 14 years of age on race day, or have parent/guardian approval to run the race.  All participants for either the Dutchess County Classic 5K must be at least 10 years old on race day, or have parent/guardian approval to run in the race. Written approval may be required.
