FAQs
Do you have course maps?
The Pancake 5K Fun Run will take place completely within the Shoppes at South Hills Parking lot and will include 3 loops around the center. The Brew 10K will be an out-and-back from Newburgh Brewing Company towards the Newburgh Beacon Bridge. A large portion of the course will be along the waterfront and will involve running on sidewalks where extreme caution should be used. A course map can be found here.
Are these events stroller-friendly?
We can accommodate strollers at the Pancake 5K as long as participants understand that the roads are open to traffic and extreme caution should be used. Paid participants will receive a race bib which will be needed to enjoy pancakes after the run. The terrain of the Brew 10K is unfortunately unsuitable for strollers.
Are the runs timed?
Both the Pancake 5K and the Brew 10K are UNTIMED and open to all paces, levels, and abilities. While courses will be provided, the distances are flexible for participants.
How do the shirts run?
Participants can choose from Men's/Unisex T-Shirt, Ladies T-Shirt or Ladies Tank. All of the tanks and tees run true to size and there isn't a need to size up. To keep race costs low, we order the exact number of shirts that we need and are unfortunately unable to accommodate size switches once the order is placed. Many participants wear their shirts on the day of the event which is highly encouraged!
Is there a cap and will there be a waitlist if the event sells out?
We will need to cap the number of participants as we get closer to the event and SWAG has been ordered. We will not have a waitlist so if you are considering registering, don't wait and miss out!
I signed up but can't attend, can I transfer my registration?
Yes! Since this is an un-timed fun run you can transfer your registration. If you are reselling your space, you would handle that on your end, we don't resell spaces. Also please note that shirt sizes cannot be adjusted after 9/22.
I can't participate due to injury/illness/family emergency etc., can I get a refund or transfer my registration to another event?
We are unfortunately unable to offer refunds or transfers, race supplies are ordered as registrations come in. You can transfer your registration per above and you can also pick up your SWAG even if you don't make it to the event.
Is there an option to participate virtually?
While we aren't offering a virtual option specifically, those who wish to participate virtually can register and pick up their SWAG during normal business hours starting on Monday 9/30. All packets must be picked up at Fleet Feet Poughkeepsie, we are unfortunately unable to ship for this event. All event SWAG must be claimed by Sunday 10/13.
What if the weather is bad?
The event will happen rain or shine and we would only not run or delay the start time if there were dangerous conditions such as thunder & lightning. It is extremely unlikely that we would make any adjustments to our events based on a weather forecast.
What if I miss the event, can I pick up my SWAG after?
Yes, you can, anytime during normal business hours. We just ask that you please pick it up before Sunday 10/13 when everything will be purged.
Will there be any water on the course?
We will have a small water station set up at Fleet Feet during the Pancake 5K but the Brew 10K will be completely self-supported and participants should bring everything that they will need to complete the 10K.
Where do the race fees go? Does this event raise money for something?
All proceeds from the Breakfast & Brews 15K Challenge & the Brew 10K will be donated toward Special Olympics. Thank you for helping us hit our goal of $2,500!
