Description

The Empire Orienteeriing Club is pleased to be able to hold this event on a new map on one of the Town of Clifton Park's newest recreation venues.  This event is designed to be consistant with Center for Desease Control guidelines to minimize the risk of spreading viral or other infections.  Please note that you should also take precautions against deer ticks and other insects that may carry desease.

During registration you will be asked for your preference for a start time during the weekend.  Note that this park does not attract much usage perhaps becase of the muddy areas in the spring time right around the entrance.  It has been my experience that the best time to visit the park is very early in the morning.  At 7 AM you may not see anyone.  Highest usage is in the early to mid afternoon.

The organizer will be intouch with you and arrange a start time as close to your preference as possible.  He will also provide you with a map of your requested course in a PDF format that you can print yourself (and other members of your family).  It is your responsibility to keep your own time to complete your course and to report that time back to the organizer by return email.

Check back with this page as we get closer to the weekend.  Right now the trails are quite muddy in sections. The more advanced courses will require route options that will be muddy or cross marsh areas.  You will appreciate bringing and using your all weather footware (hiking boots).  I have not found conditions that I wished I had waders.
