#DouglassWeek CommUnity Fun Run/Walk
Fleet Feet @ the Armory

Wednesday, July 12th @ 6:00pm
Join us for a FREE 3ish mile run/walk open to the public starting and finishing at Fleet Feet. Follow a self-directed course that leads you past the former homestead site of Frederick Douglass, where currently a plaque and bench reside on Alexander.
#DouglassWeek is a collaborative event series celebrating the work and life of Frederick Douglass in different countries around the world. The week includes performances, creative installations and critical discussions addressing the history and impact of Douglass in each location. Each year #DouglassWeek partners with a wide network of Douglass scholars, historians and researchers, along with artists, musicians, poets, athletes, community groups and activists from around the world to commemorate Douglass, the Douglass family and other changemakers to bring you memorable and thought-provoking events and activities.

The third annual #DouglassWeek will place in Rochester, NY, where Frederick and Anna Douglass lived for 25 years before moving to Washington, DC, in 1872.
Post run/walk stick around to enjoy cake in celebration of the life of Frederick Douglass and his contributions to Rochester, Society, and this Nation!

As part of #DouglassWeek, we are also hosting a food drive benefitting Foodlink. Please bring non perishable food items to the #DouglassWeek CommUnity Fun Run/Walk and they will be brought directly to Foodlink.
