Additional Race Information

We will have our first triathlon in the Rockaway Beach on 5/21! The Cross Bay Triathlon/Duathlon on the May 21 is the first triathlon we put out in each racing season. The location is in Queens, Rockaway Beach, with its gorgeous ocean view and smooth, concrete boardwalk. It makes for a great running and biking routes. Since it is by the Atlantic ocean, the swim can be challenging with big waves and strong current. Since it is still early in the season, the water temperature would be a bit chilly. Wet suits are highly recommended with water temperature in the 60s.

The race starts at 7:30am. The transition area is by the B84th street, near the bus stop. Both triathlon and duathlon run begins by heading West. The Duathlon run, first run is 1.5 miles, from B84th street to B109th street and back to the transition area. The second run is 3 miles. The triathlon run is 3 miles, from B84th street to B117th street, and back to the transition area.
The bike for both triathlon and duathlon is 12 miles long, from B84th street to B19th street, and back to the transition area. Doing 2 loops, totaling 12 miles. The course is pretty much flat but could be windy.
