2020 has been a strange year, and circumstances have forced us to adapt. While it's not feasible or safe to run our usual 5 event series in person this year, we want to maintain the spirit of the event. We'll still be raising funds for 5 great local charities, and we'll be substituting some of our traditional fare for some unconventional fun.
We hope you'll join us for our 3 competitive virtual events, 1 each in the months of June, July and August. They'll include a virtual post race party and awards ceremony, some fun prizes, challenges for participants and will benefit 5 great local organizations in a year where donations are much harder to come by.
June 20-21: Virtual Event #1 - 5km - Keith Nintzel Memorial Run & Sayville Fire Department Run Combined - Including Strava Art competition
July 11-12: Virtual Event #2 - 5km- Community Ambulance & CF Waffle Run Combined - Including costume contest competition
August 8-9: Virtual Event #3 - 4 Miles - Hon. John P. Cohalan Sayville Summerfest Run - Including elevation gain competition
Early registration promotion (Before May 25th, 2020): Register for $50
From May 26th to June 21st: Register for $60
In 2004, Keith Nintzel was involved in a fatal car accident while returning to his senior year at Binghamton University after spending Thanksgiving with his family. In his honor, a scholarship fund was created at Sayville High School for graduating seniors. This race is an attempt to fund this scholarship in future years and create a lasting tribute to Keith’s memory.
Online registration will close at 7pm on Thursday June 4th, but sign ups will still be available all day on Friday June 5th at Sayville Running Company (12 noon-6pm) and at the Common Ground park from 7:30-8:30am on race day.
