Second Annual CAST Race Against Hunger

In April 2022, for Hunger Awareness Month, the Center for Advocacy, Support & Transformation (CAST) will host its second annual Virtual 5K Run/Walk to end hunger in our community. This event will support our various food relief programs, including our Food Pantry, Mobile Food Pantry (now also serving Shelter Island), Feed-A-Kid Program, Farm to Friend Program, Food Rescue Program and our Feed Southold Initiative. We continue to experience an elevated need in our community.  In fact, the 244,000 meals provided in 2021 surpassed the 196,000 in 2020 when the pandemic fist hit.  

You can register online and run or walk 3.1 miles anytime or anywhere convenient for you during the month of April.  Record your results online. Participants get a t-shirt and a ticket for beer from Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. (adults); an ice cream scoop at Amazing Flavors Ice Cream & Coffee Shop (children) and a smoothie at The Giving Room. Pick up the t-shirts and tickets at Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. in Peconic at our CAST table on Sunday, May 1 from 1-4pm. If unable to pick-up on that Sunday, items can be picked up at CAST in Southold, Monday, May 2nd between 1-4pm or we will mail them to you. To register, $40 for adults and $15 for children 18 and under.  We hope you join us in the Race Against Hunger!
