23rd Annual 1 Mile Competition and Fun Run!
A Buffalo News Runner of the Year Race
August 8, 2019 @ 6:30pm
The Buffalo area's original and longest running 1 mile race. Runners of all speeds welcome!
Proceeds
A portion of the proceeds will support the mission of Kevin Guest House, America's first health care hospitality house. Kevin Guest House provides a safe & supportive home away from home for patients & families travelling to Buffalo for critical medical care. Thank you for your participation!

Which Race Should I Enter?
Fun-Run: Designed for people who want to get their exercise and enjoy a summer night watching the races and the party at the Elderedge Club- Highly recommended for young children.
Participants get a finishing time and may choose to participate as a member of a team.
Elite Race: Women who can run a mile in 6:00 or less, and Men who can run a mile in 5:30 or less
Open Race: Anyone not running the Fun-Run or Elite Race.
Packet Pickup and In Person Registration
Pre-Race: Tuesday Aug 6, 5:30-7:30 pm
Checkers AC track practice at Williamsville South High School, 5950 Main Street, Williamsville, NY 14221
Race Day:Thursday Aug 8, 5:00-7:00 pm
Elderedge Bicycle Club, 17 Broad Street, Tonawanda

1st Place- $200
2nd Place- $150

1st Masters- $100
New Course Record- $100
Free 2020 Checkers Membership to all top finishers.
Additional Awards
The top 3 age-group males/females in each race will receive awards.

Fun-Run participants are not eligible for awards. However, Fun-Run participants may run on a team and win a team prize.
Course and Check in
You must be checked in at race site at least 30 minutes before your heat is scheduled to start. You must report to the starter 5 minutes before your heat.
