The Run to Remember 5k is a family friendly, community wide event aimed at supporting local veterans. All are welcome to enjoy this event. There is a student discount of $15 once you begin registration.
This year, we are proud to be donating our funds in support of the installation of the Memorial Plaque to Honor Fallen RPI Classmates at The Approach. In conjunction with Air Force, Army, and Navy ROTC, this memorial will honor the bravery, service, and sacrifice of RPI veterans, prisoners of war, and service members who were wounded or killed in action since World War II. To date, 70 members of the RPI family have been identified to be included on the plaque. These individuals answered our nation’s call, and their commitment to service embodies the Rensselaer motto of “knowledge and thoroughness.” This plaque will honor their courage, sacrifice, and carry forward their legacy.
The plaque will be permanently installed on The Approach, adjacent to the existing memorials dedicated to RPI alumni who gave their lives during the First and Second World Wars. Together, these memorials will serve as a lasting tribute to those who defended our nation and will provide a place for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude for generations to come.
By participating in the Run to Remember 5K, you are helping preserve the stories of these remarkable individuals and ensuring that their courage and sacrifice continue to inspire future generations of the RPI community.
