Obstacle Wonderland – Wallkill, NY
THIS IS OBSTACLE WONDERLAND
Obstacle Wonderland was built around a simple idea:
OCR should be challenging, welcoming, affordable, and fun.
We’re not trying to be the biggest race.
We’re trying to create the kind of event you talk about afterward.
The strange obstacle.
The person you helped over a wall.
The ridiculous challenge you didn’t expect.
The pickle hanging from your medal.
The zip line finish.
That’s HalloWeird.
Come race hard.
Come laugh.
Come get weird.
And whatever happens…
RELISH THE CHALLENGE. 🥒
#HalloWeird4 #RelishTheChallenge #ObstacleWonderland #OCR #DoTheDamnThing
HalloWeird is back for year four, and this time things are getting a little… pickled.
Welcome to HalloWeird 4: Relish the Challenge Obstacle Wonderland’s Halloween obstacle course race where running is only part of the experience.
This is not a polished stadium race with miles of open running between obstacles. HalloWeird is a grassroots OCR built around what we love most: obstacles, challenges, laughs, surprises, and a community that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Expect a course that works its way back and forth across the Wonderland property, hitting obstacle after obstacle with only limited trail running in between. You’ll climb, crawl, carry, balance, swing, think, and probably question some of our decisions along the way.
And because it’s HalloWeird, the physical course is only part of it.
This year we’re adding extra challenges designed to test more than just your grip strength.
Challenge Pickles!
Obstacles and Challenges
Our course includes a variety of different rigs and natural obstacles designed to test your skills and determination.
Additional Challenges
Paintball Challenge
Take aim at our paintball station. You get 3 shots to hit one target—harder than you think! Successfully hit the target and earn an additional paintball pickle to add to your awesome finisher medal.
Icy Cold Pickle Challenge
Reach into an ice bucket of pickles and fish around for one to pull out. Complete this chilling challenge and get an icy blue pickle to add to your medal.
CPR Pickle Challenge
Visit our CPR station to bring awareness to cardiac emergencies. Listen to brief instructions and take a turn completing chest compressions on a CPR dummy. This challenge is designed to raise awareness only and is not an actual certification class. Complete it and earn your third heart pickle to add to your awesome medal.
This and more is Halloweird!

Description
THE COURSE
HalloWeird 4 will use a mix of Obstacle Wonderland staples and Halloween-specific challenges.
Expect obstacles including walls, rigs, balance obstacles, crawls, ropes, carries, climbing elements, technical challenges, and plenty of Wonderland weirdness.
The course is designed to keep you engaged. This is not just a running race with a few obstacles dropped into it.
And when you finally survive everything we throw at you…
You finish by ZIP LINE.
Because crossing a timing mat is boring.
