Racing Style
-Onewheels-
- We will start with 2 chip-timed qualifying heats. your best time out of the 2 heats will count towards rankings. One person at a time with a minute stagger in between each person.
From there the top 12 riders from each division will move on to the side-by-side semifinals. We will split the 12 riders into two heats of 6 riders.
The top 3 riders from each heat will move onto the side-by-side finals heat. The top 3 will podium.
Teens/kids - How it works below
-Teens and kids can stay in there own division or if they want to race with the adults, if you feel comfortable allowing them and think they have a good chance of doing well. Once entered into a division, they cannot change divisions. These are adults racing so please be mindful that accidents can occur and if they are small children with not enough experience, they might want to stay in the teens/kids division. The only race division they cannot do is Legends since it is 50 years and older. Once entered into a division, they cannot change divisions.
**Kids ages of 13 and younger do not qualify for ORL Rankings.**

Here’s how the racing will work:
Racers will line up single-file at the start. Riders will be staggered by 45 to 60 seconds to minimize bottlenecks.
We will hold four chip-timed heats over two days – two on Friday and two on Saturday. Your final result will be the average of your times across all four heats, so consistency is key. The top half of riders will be classified as Pro, and the bottom half as Amateur.
For example, if we have 26 male riders, the top 13 fastest overall will be in the Pro division, with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fastest earning podium spots. The riders placing 14th through 26th will be in the Amateur division, and the 14th, 15th, and 16th fastest overall will achieve 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place on the Amateur podium. We will follow this same process for adult male and adult female riders.
The Teens and Kids divisions will have their top three overall finishers recognized after the four heats.
In the event we only have 6 or less riders for a division in Onewheel, all riders will move to finals after chip timed qualifying. Everyone must do at least one round of chip timed qualifying. No semi-finals will be held to reduce risk of injury. If all riders agree together and want to do a side by side semi finals race for fun and to practice before the finals, that will be acceptable. All riders need to agree though.
