Onewheels – Competition Format

Friday – Qualifying

We will begin with two chip-timed qualifying heats on Friday.
Each rider will complete two runs.

Your fastest time out of the two runs will determine whether you advance to the semifinals.

Qualifying runs will be conducted one rider at a time, with a one-minute stagger between riders to ensure safe spacing and reduce dust interference.

The top 12 riders in each division based on qualifying times will advance to Saturday’s semifinals.

Saturday – Semifinals & Finals

Semifinals will be held side-by-side and structured in one of the following formats, depending on field size:

Option A – 2 Heats of 6 Riders

  • Top 3 riders from each heat advance to Finals

  • 6 riders total advance

Option B – 3 Heats of 4 Riders

  • Top 2 riders from each heat advance to Finals

  • 6 riders total advance

Finals

The 6 advancing riders will compete in the Finals.

The top 3 finishers in the Finals will podium.

Electric Unicycles – Competition Format

We will hold four chip-timed heats over two days — two on Friday and two on Saturday.

Your final result will be the average of your times across all four heats, so consistency is key.

After all four heats are complete:

  • The top 50% of riders in each division will be classified as Pro

  • The bottom 50% will be classified as Amateur

Example:

If there are 26 male riders in qualifying:

  • The top 13 fastest riders will make up the Pro division

    • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall will podium as Pro

  • Riders placing 14th–26th overall will make up the Amateur division

    • Within that group, the top three (14th, 15th, and 16th overall) will podium as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Amateur

In the event we only have 6 or less riders for a division in Onewheel, all riders will move to finals after chip timed qualifying. Everyone must do at least one round of chip timed qualifying. No semi-finals will be held to reduce risk of injury. If all riders agree together and want to do a side by side semi finals race for fun and to practice before the finals, that will be acceptable. All riders need to agree though.
