Description
The Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition presents the 7th annual Lockheed Martin Towpath Freedom 5K on Saturday, November 10 at Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron. Join us as we honor our U.S. Veterans and celebrate the completion of the Towpath Trail in Summit County!
Beginning on Main Street in downtown Akron, the 3.1 mile route will lead participants south along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, turning around at Dart Street, and finishing at Lock 3 Park.
This family-friendly event includes a timed 5K walk/run, long-sleeve moisture wicking shirt, post-run food, and awards for the top finishers in each age category. Walkers and pets are welcome! All proceeds benefit the continued development, activation, and enhancement of the Ohio & Erie Canalway, Towpath Trail, and connector trails.
We are offering FREE REGISTRATION for the first 35 veterans who register! If you are a veteran, please contact Sara Hart at (330) 374-5657 or sahart@ohioeriecanal.org for your registration code.
