Place

1 Holy Cross Blvd. (Hoban HS)
Akron, OH US 44306

Description

Join us to celebrate the life of Ric Sayre a Hoban Alumnus from the Class of 1971 who was a nationally renowned American runner. Ric’s most noted achievement was winning the inaugural Los Angeles Marathon in 1986 with a career-best time of 2 hours, 12 minutes, and 59 seconds. The next year, in 1987, Ric won the United States national marathon championship. He was also one of only four American men who have qualified in the marathon for the U.S. Olympic Trials five times. Ric was also a 2 time NAIA All American at Walsh University. Ric Sayre passed away in June of 2011. He is remembered by his family and friends and those who still draw motivation from his legacy.

The course is as special as the person it honors. Some consider it to be one of the most challenging 5k courses in the area. All proceeds benefit the Hoban track and field and cross country teams. Will YOU Run the Ric?
