Raising Mental Health Awareness in Wood County

For over 30 years, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wood County has continued to promote education, awareness, and advocacy throughout the community. 

On the evening of Friday, October 1st, 2021 at the Wood County Fairgrounds, we are hosting our annual AfterBurn event. The event features family-friendly games, a community resource fair, chili cookoff, 5K and 1-mile run/walk, and a “Lights in Memory” ceremony in honor of those that have lost their life related to mental health concerns. Schedule of Events

5:30 p.m. – Registration, Pack Pick-Up, & Family activities/tables open
6:30 p.m. – 1mi/5k Run start
6:30 p.m. – Chili Cook-off begins 
8:00 p.m. – Lights in Memory Ceremony
8:15 p.m. – Chili and 5K Awards Raffle Drawings

Same-Day Registration

Registration for the 5K or 1 miler is available the day of the event. Please plan to arrive early, at 5:30 pm. LImited tee shirt options will be available. 

Tee-Shirt, Chili Tasting, and Kids Meal

When you register for the 5K or 1 miler, you are also able to purchase the AfterBurn tee shirt, chili tastings, and a kid's meal. If you would like to purchase these items, but not a race registration choose the event "Chili Tasting and/or Tee Shirt Only." The event shows are free. After you select your purchase, the total will be updated. Shirts, chili tastings, and kid's meals are also available for purchase at the event. 

Prices

• Tee Shirt - $15
• Chili Tastings - $5 for 5, $10 for 10, and $15 for 15
• Kid's Meal (hot dog, one scoop of mac and cheese, and cookie or brownie - $3

The deadline to order shirts is Thursday, September 17th.
