Enjoy the fall season by joining the Canal Winchester Chamber for the 8th Annual Running Scared 5K and 1-Mile Family Run/Walk at Canal Winchester High School!
Grab your costumes and get moving for the best event of the season. We'll have an awesome 2024 race shirt (while supplies last), race bib, and medal for all registrants in both events. This year, our in-person event will take place on October 26th at Canal Winchester High School.
We are awarding prizes to the best costumes again. Costume prizes will be awarded to:
- Adults: funniest and scariest
- Under 16: funniest and scariest

Packet Pickup
Early packet pickup will be available Thursday October 24th from 4pm-6:45pm and Friday October 25th from 12pm - 4pm at Nationwide Children's Close to Home Center 6365 Winchester Boulevard Suite B, Canal Winchester, OH 43110. There will be race-day pickup available near the start line beginning at 8:30 AM. The race will begin at 10:00 AM.
Race Day Timeline
8:30 AM - Race day check-in and packet pickup begins at Canal Winchester High School
9:00 AM - Health Fair Begins
9:50AM - Breathing Session led by Elizabeth Wood Yoga followed by a warmup led by Nationwide Children's
10:00 AM - 5K and 1-Mile start
12:00 PM - Event ends
Volunteer
This event needs volunteers to help before, during, and after the event. If you are interested in volunteering, please click on the volunteer tab on the left side of the page. An email will be sent out a few days prior to the event with a location and parking details. Thank you for your interest in volunteering.
