To honor her dedication and devotion to helping children and veterans with their oral health needs, The “Dr. Patty Walter, D.M.D. Memorial” was established. Patty died on September 25, 2015, at which time she served as a Board member of the CDS’s Oral Health Foundation. She gave unselfishly of her time and talent. The CDS’s Oral Health Foundation is dedicated to providing donated dental care to under-served children and veterans. This event will benefit the 88 to 90% of Veterans in the Greater Cincinnati Area that are not eligible to receive dental benefits at the VA Hospital, have no dental insurance and with annual income levels at or below the 200% federal poverty guidelines. Volunteer general dentists and specialists donate their time and talent providing free dental care to our Veterans. We encourage you to support this worthwhile event! Runners, walkers, and cheerleaders of all ages are invited to participate in this worthwhile event.

Spirit of '76 Shelter, Lunken Airport Playfield, 4740 Playfield Lane, Cincinnati, OH US 45226
Course:
Out and back on the Lunken Playfield Bike Trail. Course is flat and fast.
Run Divisions:
14/under, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70/over.
Walk Divisions:
29/under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80/over
Awards:
Top male and female runners and walkers. Age group awards to Top male and female runners and walkers in each division.

Registration Fee:
Adults 14 and over: $25 Pre-registration or $30 Race Day. Registration includes chip timing, goodie bag, refreshments and awards.
Discount for Kids 13 and under: $20 Pre-registration or $30 Race Day. Registration includes chip timing, goodie bag, refreshments and awards.
Race T-shirts:
T-shirts are optional and available for an additional $10 with advance registration. Order early to be sure to get your size.
Race Day cost for T-shirts is $15, if available.
Sleep-In Option:
If you cannot participate in our event on 10/13 but would like to show your support, this is the event for you.
Sign up here for the Sleep-in option. We will really appreciate the support and as a thank you, we will send you a race shirt that you can wear.

About "Leave No Vet Behind"
A brief history - On September 11, 2009 four dentists from the Cincinnati Dental Society provided free dental screenings to over 110 veterans on the grounds of the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati. The event was the first of the new “Leave No Vet Behind” initiative. The program was created when the Cincinnati Dental Society became aware that only 8 to 10% of veterans in the area were eligible to receive dental care at the VA Medical Center. We targeted those Veterans who cycled through the VA’s emergency department every other month for antibiotics to treat dental infections. The primary sources of the infection were never addressed since they could not qualify for the VA’s stringent requirements and could not afford the co-pays at the city’s dental clinics. To date, over 1000 Veterans have received donated dental care in the amount of $1 million by volunteer specialists and general dentists. To continue this effort on an annual basis, we depend on support from our community as well as grants.

Chip Timing
This year's event will be timed using MyLaps Disposable bib tags. The chip will be on the bib number. No need to turn in chips at the end of the race.
