The summer Grasshoppers program is built to serve as a great introduction to the sport of running for kids going into grades 3 through 6. Practices are a mix of running and active games.
Club members receive coaching, a team uniform, entry into all of our scheduled races, a post-season awards party, and a season of fun. The focus of our summer program is on learning healthy habits, and the kids have the option of taking part in six races as a group - one track meet, one road race, and four cross country meets. All abilities and experience levels are welcome in the summer Grasshoppers.
Prior to registering your child for the Grasshoppers Summer Running club, you must have registered them with USATF and be able to provide their membership number. To do so, click here and join USATF today. This is for insurance purposes: registering your child with USATF does not automatically register them for the Grasshoppers. Registration numbers will be verified with USATF prior to practices beginning.
When registering with USATF, your child's club number is 167 on the registration form. USATF memberships must be renewed each calendar year, but they are good for multiple Grasshopper seasons if your child took part in the spring program or is planning on participating in the fall program later this year.
Be sure to select the proper multi-person pricing checkbox during the registration process. Contact the club director via the contact form prior to completing registration if you have any questions about this process.
Please be sure to download a club handbook in order to be prepared for the first practice and a great summer season! These vary by location and can be accessed here: Dublin Hilliard Lancaster Marysville New Albany Pickerington Upper Arlington Westerville
The handbook contains full information on our practice locations & times, as well as our race schedule, club rules, and more. Further information is shared with Grasshopper families throughout the season through weekly email updates.
