The John Moore 5K Walk/Run Has Been Cancelled
After careful consideration and review of Governor DeWine’s press conference on March 12, 2020, the John Moore 5K leadership is announcing that all race-related events on Sunday, March 29 are canceled.
The race committee decided to take this action based on the most recent recommendations and directives of Gov. DeWine and Dr. Acton of the State Health Department to limit the spread of COVID-19 virus in our community and the State of Ohio. We appreciate the difficult decisions and actions the Governor, Dr. Acton and his entire Executive Team have had to make to proactively contain the spread of Coronavirus and COVID-19 in the State. The race committee wants to support and participate in those efforts and will do everything we can to that end. This means canceling the John Moore 5K. We know this is not the way any of us envisioned the start of spring, and we share your disappointment. We will work with our sponsors, vendors and trusted partners to notify attendees and volunteers.
WHAT IS THE PLAN?
All participants will be granted a 100% refund of all registration fees paid. This will happen within the next 7-10 business days and we will communicate with everyone via email as these processes are begun. Thank you for your patience as we work behind the scenes to get everything happening in an appropriate manner.
We want to thank our sponsors, volunteers, and participants for their support and understanding. Updates will be forthcoming in the following days with more information to John Moore 5K participants. Thank you.

Description
The race/walk is to commemorate the memory of John Moore, a deceased member of the Columbus Division of Fire. John was an integral part of instructing the division's Paramedics. It is now ten years since his passing which occurred on duty. Event proceeds and all donations will contribute toward a scholarship for OhioHealth Paramedic School.
Join us at Wolfe Park on March 29th to enjoy a morning of fitness and remembrance.

Early packet pickup
There is no early packet pickup for this event. All pickup will be done on race day prior to the event starting at 830a.
Parking
There is ample parking at Wolfe Park. Please enter Wolfe Park off of Broad St across from St Charles Preparatory School.
Race Day Timeline
- 830 AM - Race day pickup and registration begins at Wolfe Park near the shelter building
- 945 AM - Pre-race announcements and thank you's
- 1000 AM - The John Moore 5K Run/Walk is underway!
