Description
This race is to support a fellow runner and friend, Jean Aschenbrenner. Jean burst onto the running scene with life, energy, and enthusiasm. Infecting everyone around her with her smile and exuberance for life. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in early 2016 and has been battling for almost 3 years. Unfortunately, her battle has finished, she has crossed the final Finish Line. We want to help support her family, lend them strength and love, by organizing a memorial 5K event in her honor. Proceeds from the event will go to support Jean's final expenses.
Jean's motto is "You may see me struggle, but you will never see me quit." Her love and acceptance of all people knew no boundaries, so we have a new saying, "Be Like Jean". Reminding all who knew her to love everyone and to spread that infectious joy!
This is a virtual race, so you can log your miles wherever you can. You will have from April 1st to April 30th to log 3.1 miles. When you have completed your miles, send the race director an e-mail.
There will be a group run/walk on April 27th to celebrate her life. Meet at 8:30am, location details to follow in a race e-mail.
