The CRRC Winter Run will be back in 2022. The Winter Run will be returning at a new location and will have some changes in the race distances. The 2022 Winter Run will be held in Orange Township (Delaware, OH) to recognize the contributions that Len Fisher has made to the Central Ohio running community. The new course will include the pedestrian bridge over Rt. 23 which was dedicated by Orange Township in Len's name. The Columbus Roadrunners Club invites you to the new CRRC Winter Run, celebrating the love of running and honoring a special friend. Let's run the Len Fisher Bridge together! Be a bridge runner.

The run will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022. There are three race options a 3.1 Mile, 6.3 Mile or 12.6 Mile (2 loops of the 6.3 course). All three races will start and finish at the North Orange Park shelter.

Post race there will be hot chocolate and soup served.

Course and Map

Whether you are training for a Spring marathon, 1/2 marathon or wanting to schedule a late winter run, consider signing up for CRRC Winter Run. This is a new course that will offer three options for a distance that is right for you. The 3.1 mile (5K) course is a simple out and back in the Park, then along Gooding Blvd and over the Fisher Bridge and returning to the park. There will be a aid station on the east side of the Bridge. The 6.3 Mile course will begin with the 3.1 Mile course but also provide a mix of paved trail, multipurpose trail and a section of single track trail in North Orange Park. The 12.6 Mile course is two loops of the 6.3 course. The start and finish for all races will be at the shelter in North Orange Park.

IMPORTANT NOTICE  - The race will be run primarily on shared-use, multipurpose trails and will have one or two road crossings depending on the which distance you are running. The first road crossing is at the Len Fisher Bridge, crossing Gooding Blvd. The second crossing is on Graphics Way. Race volunteers will be stationed at the road crossings. The roads will not be closed to vehicle traffic and all runners are asked to follow the Rules of the Road, with caution to vehicle traffic. When crossing at a pedestrian crossing, you have the right of way...but as we all know cars are bigger. Stay alert to car traffic when running on trails and crossing roads. As part of this event, the CRRC is working with the Delaware County Engineer's office to improve the warning signage and safety of runners/walkers/bikers on the "shared-use" paths.

The looped section of the 6.3 mile course will use two short sections of road, Graphics Way (south of the crossing) and N. Central Dr. Runners will be using the left lane, running near the berm of the road, and running towards traffic to observe any oncoming vehicles. This course has been reviewed and approved by the Delaware County Engineer's office and the Delaware County Sheriff's office. There will be no cones in the roadway, but we will have volunteers, feather flags and directional signs to maintain a safe and fun course.
