Join us for a Hudson, Ohio run like no other! Run for Rwanda will take place Father's Day weekend - Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 8:30am.
Lace up with Dad, and get ready to run on a beautiful trail through Hudson Springs Park, adjacent to Seton Catholic School. Loop around the 50-acre lake and catch glimpses of natural wildlife along the path. For the cheer squad, there are several great playgrounds right along the route to keep the kids busy during the race. A coffee truck will be on-site during and after the race for post-event hydration. This race will be like none other with local celebrities, a live DJ, and an after party. You can sign up to run, walk, or just donate to support this amazing cause. You do not have to run to be a part of Race Day!
Run for Rwanda is set to transform the lives of young students, both in Ohio and 5,000 miles away in the African country of Rwanda. Located in Central and East Africa, Rwanda is one of the smallest countries on the African mainland. Known for its breathtaking scenery, it is often referred to as the “land of a thousand hills”. It is also home to the mountain gorilla - celebrated and highlighted by Ellen DeGeneres through her Wildlife Fund.
This race will raise critical funds to build a school for 400 students in a remote area of Rwanda in need of the kind of a turn-around, positive future that only good education can assure. Many of the children are orphans with limited or no access to education, no hope and no dreams. Your contribution will help with completion of Phase I construction on the school, tuition, and daily food requirements for the children. The goal is to have students begin learning in the school by 2020 - give them hope, give them dreams and help build their communities.
The race will be held rain or shine!
All proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of Rwandan Education, the organization dedicated to helping these children achieve their educational goals by the establishment of schools.
