Collin Cares Cure Cancer is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded by Collin Kiousis in 2016. Collin was a senior at Medina High School in the fall of 2014 when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Even while undergoing many surgeries and treatments, he was still able to graduate with his class and even attend Akron University for one year. He lived by the saying, “Defy the Hand You’re Dealt”, and even had that phrase tattooed on his back left shoulder blade.

Collin wanted to start a foundation that would donate to people who were going through what he was going through. In the past 6 years we have donated close to $200,000 to hundreds of families dealing with cancer, the majority from NE Ohio.

Course Description

The start/finish line is in the parking lot of Towner's Woods in Kent, Ohio. The course runs along hiking trails throughout the Towner's Woods, which is part of Portage Parks District in Franklin Township. The park contains a historic Hopewell Indian Mound Site and the Historic Brady Interlocking Railroad Town and prohibits bikes, motor vehicles, and horses on the trails. The trails are natural surface and contain mature wooded areas, wetlands, natural grass, and scenic views along the way. The park is next to Lake Pippin, a pristine glacial kettle hole. The property consists of approximately 234 rolling acres of diverse public land in Franklin and Ravenna Township and is a renowned cross-country skiing and hiking destination in the local community.

There will be water and snacks at the start/finish line, along with park restrooms. There is one additional aide station that you pass at the 1.4 and 2.2-mile points which will also have water.

Please be advised that there are roots, rocks, and possibly mud on the trail. There are places where it is single track, also. The trails are beautiful, but this is not a flat and fast race! There is approximately 200' of gain and has rolling hills.

Shirt Deadline!

You will not be Guaranteed a shirt if registering after 4/30.
