Description
On Sunday April 17 – Saturday April 23, 2021, MLK Lebanon will sponsor the Earth Day MLK Virtual 5K. A “virtual 5k” is a running/walking event where the community participates individually and shares this virtually through social media while running in their neighborhoods while social distancing or running on their treadmills in the comfort of their home. Proceeds to benefit a Nature Center Association of Caesar Creek.
NCACC is working to design and create an accessible trail for those with disabilities.This project is a collaboration between the Warren and Greene County Boards of Developmental Disabilities.

Nature Center Association of Caesar Creek
The Nature Center Association of Caesar Creek’s mission is to help people of all ages connect with wildlife and the natural environment through educational and recreational activities at Caesar Creek State Park. Aside from these goals, we also assist the Park with projects and programs to help make the State Park a more enjoyable experience.
Currently Caesar Creek State Park features trails for visitors who can walk, hike, cross country ski, bike, or ride horses to be immersed in the woods to see, smell, and hear the unique flora and fauna that exists within the park. If visitors have mobility challenges requiring a walker, wheelchair, or scooter, they are denied this outdoor adventure because all the trails contain uneven soil with rocks and tree roots on their surface.
The paved areas they can use are located around the Visitors Center, the Park Marina, the dam spillway river deck, the handicap fishing pier by the youth pond near Ohio State Route 73, and all of the parking lots. At none of these areas can mobility-challenged visitors see the beauty of nature in its vast expanse offered to them by Caesar Creek State Park. This essential project will require the collaboration of three groups: the Nature Center Association of Caesar Creek, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks and Watercraft, and the Army Corps of Engineers.
The Nature Center Association of Caesar Creek (NCACC) proposes a paved path 0.9 miles long and ten feet wide on the Orange Trail at Fifty Springs starting at Cemetery Road and ending at the Entrance Road after the second pavilion. Three distinct sections will create the path planned for handicapped visitors.
