The sixth annual “Miles for Smiles 5K Run/Walk,” presented by North Orange Family Dentistry, will be held at North Orange Park in Lewis Center. The proceeds from the race will benefit the Free to Smile Foundation. Free to Smile Foundation is dedicated to supporting and sustaining comprehensive, quality surgical and dental services to poor and underprivileged children and adolescents throughout the world. To this end, their volunteers and partner organizations will provide free surgical, dental and educational care for all that are served by the foundation across the globe. More information can be found at www.freetosmile.org.
Please note: All registrants through July 10th will receive an event t-shirt. Due to t-shirt ordering and printing deadlines, t-shirts cannot be guaranteed for those registering July 11th or beyond.
Early packet pickup will be at North Orange Family Dentistry on Wednesday, July 24th from 10:00am - 7:00pm, Thursday, July 25th from 8:00am - 3:00pm, and Friday, July 26th from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Plug 7325 Gooding Blvd, Delaware, OH 43015 into your favorite GPS or click here to see where you're going. Race day packet pickup and registration will also be available near the race start line beginning at 7:00am.
All participants will receive a finisher medal when they complete their run/walk.
The top 3 male and female finishers will also receive placement awards, as will the top male and female finisher in each of the following age groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Award winners are only eligible in one category (ie, the overall winner is a separate category and cannot also win their age group).
Running for a good cause is great, and running with friends and family is even better! Miles for Smiles will again this year be offering the ability to create and join teams. Creating or joining a social team happens through the registration process, and is fairly simple and intuitive. If you have any questions regarding the team process, please view the help topic by clicking here.
This year's Kids Run is now longer (1/4 mile loop instead of a short 100-meter dash) and includes a finisher medal for all participants. This is a great distance for kids up to age 9 or 10. The course map is below.
