The seventh annual Miles for Marion Monster Dash 5K will be held Saturday, October 16th, 2021. Our 5K will begin at 9am with preregistration beginning at 8am. Participants will have the ability to run/walk 3.2 miles stretched mainly across East and West Center St., reaching just outside the downtown with a turnaround at Forest Lawn Blvd..
In addition to our 5k run/walk Downtown Marion, Inc. is excited to announce we will be offering a 1mile run/walk for children 12 and under at a $10 cost. Downtown Marion, Inc. will also offer Marion County athletes a discounted 5k run/walk, with fee at $10 with no t-shit included in the registration cost. Miles for Marion Monster Dash t-shirts and medals will be provided to participants who are registered prior to October 1st and are registered at full price. Participants who are registered for the 1 mile or using the Marion County Student Athlete price are eligible to order t-shirts for an additional cost if the order has been placed prior to October 1st. With the Monster March, a downtown trick or treat, following the Monster Dash at 12pm we would like to encourage you to wear your favorite costume. We will allow the crowd to vote of their favorite costumes and awarded a prize. Prizes will also be given out to the 1st place female participant as well as the 1st place male participant. The 5K will be timed by Speedy Sneakers Racing.
The purpose of the 5K is to host a family friendly activity for the entire Marion community, while raising funds to support Downtown Marion, Inc. which is a 501(c)3 organization focused on the revitalization of downtown Marion as a central hub of our community, working to restore it to its former state of functionality, accessibility, and profitability.
Race Shirts: All registrations received after October 1 may see in delay in receiving their race shirts. If this is the case, shirts will be available for pickup after the event. Further communication will be provided where the pickup locations will be.
