Wear your brightest neon colors to the fifth annual Marysville Neon Glow Run 5K on June 9, 2018! The Marysville Neon Glow Run 5K will start at the Marysville High School Stadium, connect to the Jim Simmons Trail, proceed across the new US 33 Pedestrian Bridge, and finish back at the Marysville High School Stadium. All 5K runners who register by May 25 will be guaranteed a race t-shirt.

The Marysville Neon Glow Run 5K is the major fundraiser for the Marysville High School Boys and Girl Track and Field teams along with a contribution to the Union County Special Olympics Track program. Our goal is to promote a healthy 5K run and to grow this race into one of the premier 5K events with runners of all ages from Union County and surrounding towns and cities. The race is sponsored by Monarch Athletic Association (TrackBackers) with cooperation from the Marysville High School Track and Field teams. A great time awaits all who participate.

Inclement Weather
Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event paying special attention to the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds and extreme temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the event webpage so that they can adequately prepare for severe weather during the race as well as possible course alterations.

On race day, the Race Director will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the course. Possible scenarios include: change of race start time on the scheduled date, modification of the race format, change of race date or cancellation of the event. Wet, slick roadways, standing water and poor visibility due to heavy snow and/or rains may require rerouting or shortening the course. Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15 minute increments. If high winds are present, extra care will be taken to secure race signage, start and finish areas, mile markers, fencing, banners, timing clocks and other equipment.
