This race is held each year the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend in honor of Rocky Zanowick who was from Miamisburg and who died while serving his country. In 2017 this race had Team Fastrax skydivers jump in the American flag to the start the race. If you were there, you know it was amazing. If you weren't there, you should come this year. You will be proud to be an American!
Race proceeds will benefit:
- City of Miamisburg for Veterans Memorial Park
- Gold Star Families Memorial Monument at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at WPAFB
- The Uriah Edward Zanowick Trust Fund (In memory of Cpl. Paul “Rocky” Zanowick II)
Early Packet Pick up: Friday, May 25th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Carnegie Hall at Veterans Memorial Park
Race Day Registration/Packet Pick up: Begins at 8:00 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park
Awards: Top Male and Female Civilian, Top Male and Female Active Military/Veteran, 10 and under
(male and female combined), and top 3 male/female in the following age groups: 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60 and over. Ceremony to immediately follow run!

-Purchase a flag in honor or memory of your serviceman/woman by making a $10.00 donation. These flags will be placed along the race route near the start & finish lines and can be taken home following the race. Proceeds will benefit all race charities. Information must be received online or by mail by May 18th or can be purchased race day.
-If you have a flag that needs to be retired due to being worn, torn, faded or badly soiled, please bring your flag to the race. You may provide a brief history of the flag if desired (i.e., Where it was flown? How long? Did any memorable events happen at that site?) All flags will be turned over to the Boy Scouts of America to be retired at their next flag retirement ceremony.
