March 19, 2021- Currently this is planned as a live event however that does not completely eliminate the possibility that the event may be switched to a Virtual event due to government and health guidelines. This is a charitable fundraiser and if it is switched to a virtual event there will be no refunds. As a virtual event runners and walkers are encouraged to do their own run/walk consistent with CDC guidelines and the State of Ohio's health advisory states "Outdoor exercise like running or taking a walk is perfectly acceptable...While exercising outside, you should still practice social distancing by running or walking at least six feet away from other people." If you have a treadmill in your home you can complete your run in the comfort of your own house.
We are no putting any timetable on when you should do your virtual run. Please be cautious and wait until you feel totally safe exercising.
How a Virtual Run Works:
If you feel more comfortable not running at the actual race, or if we must switch the actual race to a virtual race due to government directives or health concerns you can still get all of the great race bling. You will pick up your materials at the regular packet pickup locations. We will notify you of these dates.
Complete your run/walk anytime after the pick up dates, as convenient for you. This can be outside, or on a treadmill
We will keep all race participants informed through email, and updates on this webpage. Thank you for your support during these challenging times.
Please understand that our no refund policy remains in effect. We have already spent money to purchase items such as medals, and other services which cannot possibly be absorbed by the event. We thank you for your support and understanding during this public health emergency.
Run/walk the race in style! Every 5K participant will receive a cool airplane medal that has a spinning propeller and a great race shirt. Enjoy Snacks, Chips and Drinks at the Finish Line.
Runners participating in both the Fly Me To The Moon on June 12 and Run To The Moon on July 17 will also receive a cool Moon Run Series Space Station Medal. Virtual runners also quality for this special medal.
Q: Is there packet pick up on race morning?
A: Race Day packet pick up is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED based on social distancing guidelines and the Race Day packet pickup we offer will be very limited. The race will start on time with no exceptions. Friends or family members may pick up your packet for you if they have your confirmation information.
Q: Do we have to wear a mask when we run?
A: You are not required to wear a mask during your run once you cross the start line. We're all following safety protocol under the circumstances. We are designing the start area to adhere to 6 ft distancing in the waved start corral. During those times of potentially closer contact we want everyone to wear a mask. When you leave your car and come to the start zone you must wear a mask. Once you start running, you may wish to remove your mask and that would be a choice that each runner must make. Once back in the finish area we ask that everyone wear a mask, except when hydrating or eating and maintain social distance. Please read the detailed instructions sent out during race week.
To recap: Do not come to the race without a mask and wear that mask before the race, when you are in the starting zone, when you cross the start line, and put it on again when crossing the finish line except when rehydrating or eating.
Q: Must spectators wear a mask?
A: Yes. We ask that all spectators wear a facemask and practice social distancing.
Q; I have a medical condition that makes wearing a mask difficult or uncomfortable. May I come to the race and not wear a mask?
A: No. If you have a medical condition please take advantage of our Virtual race option so you are not exposed to hundreds of other runners.
Q: How will we get our medals?
A: Runners at the actual race: Medals will be handed out with the food bags at the finish line. Runners for the Virtual Race: Medals will be included in their packets.
Q: Can I change my event?
A: Yes. If you signed up for the actual race and now can't make it or feel uncomfortable running with hundreds of others that's ok. You can Transfer to the Virtual Run. Find your registration confirmation email and go to Manage Registration. From the webpage you land on look at the bottom blue area and Transfer Event. Then you can do the switch you want at no charge.
Q. Do you have to register online?
Q. What kind of refreshments will be given?
A. Post race refreshments include water and sport drink, and cookies and chips.
Q. Can you walk instead of running?
Q. Is a t-shirt included in the fee?
Q. How do I contact you if I have questions?
