Description
Chip timed race! First race of the #RUNDUSKY Race Series 2025.
5K run/walk road course in downtown Sandusky, Ohio originating at Bait House Brewery and Battery Park parking lot just north of the city building.
Day of registration from 8am-8:45am; Race start at 9 a.m. Finish line will be set up for one hour.
$30 supports the Humane Society of Erie County and includes t-shirt (if registered before noon on March 25, 2025). *$35 and no guaranteed shirt after T-shirt deadline*
*Well behaved dogs on a SHORT leash are welcome
Raffles, 50/50 and more at Bait House Brewery throughout the event. Limited breakfast menu, beer release. Each participant receives a fountain beverage or draft beer from Bait House Brewery.

The course had to be adjusted to route away from newly active construction areas downtown. The 200 block of Meigs Street will be closed prior to the event so please plan accordingly to find a parking spot either across the street at the Sandusky Justice Center, the parking lot near the tennis courts, near the Erie County Senior Center or adjacent off-street parking in the neighborhood.
Please take note of the area on the course that doubles back on the Sandusky Bay Pathway and be sure to STAY TO THE RIGHT to share the pathway with other participants if they pass you or you pass them.
Course turn by turn directions:
The 2025 Humane Society of Erie County 5k starts and finishes at Bait House Brewing at 223 Meigs Street.
The start will head north on Meigs Street to Water Street with a bicyclist and Sandusky Police leading the field.
Participants will be guided to the Sandusky Bay Pathway to avoid running in the street (Streets are not closed for the event)
Continue west on the Sandusky Bay Pathway
Turn right (north) on the sidewalk just before the Chesapeake Lofts
Continue around the Chesapeake Lofts to reconnect to Sandusky Bay Pathway
Continue west on the Sandusky Bay Pathway along Shoreline Drive and eventually Water Street
Exit Sandusky Bay Pathway at the Shelby Street Boat Launch and turn left on to Shelby Street
Head south on Shelby Street for one block to Market Street
Turn left (east) on Market Street and continue for four blocks, use bike lane
Turn left (north) on Decatur Street and continue for two blocks
Continue back to the Sandusky Bay Pathway at Chesapeake Parking Lot entrance
Turn right (east) on the Sandusky Bay Pathway
Follow Sandusky Bay Pathway back to Meigs Street
Turn right (south) on Meigs Street
Finish at the Bait House Brewery
