Welcome to the 12th Annual Big Nut Strut! You can participate in person or virtual for the 5K race or 1 mile walk. The Big Nut Strut brings our community together helping raise support for all Big Walnut Preschool, Elementary, Intermediate, Middle School and High School PTOs. These committees enrich our students educational experience through support of additional programs and materials to their curriculum. Come join us to show your EAGLE PRIDE! Each racer will receive a short sleeve shirt, swag bag, racer bib, race day celebrations, your running times posted on the Columbus Running Company website (and on the results tab at the top of this page) and bragging rights with your fellow racers!
If you want to save time in line on race day, you can pick up your race packets in our drive through pick up at GRE (General Rosecrans Elementary 301 S Miller Dr 43074) October 9th from 8am-1pm. If you can't make it to early packet pickup, packets can be picked up on the day of the race at the race site.
You can change your event (5K -> 1 Mile, or 1 Mile -> 5K) at any time through October 8! If it's before the race starts, simply go to your RunSignUp profile and follow these instructions. If you need to request an event change after October 8, please use the Questions button on this page.
Recognition will be provided to the following finishers in the in-person 5K (see below). No awards will be given out in the 1 Mile Walk.

Although Big Nut Strut is typically an in-person race, we recognize this is not an option at the moment with the necessary safety measures in place. The purpose of this event is to give runners something to look forward to (while getting some awesome swag) while raising funds for Big Walnut Elementary, Intermediate, Middle School, and High School PTOs.
Train to get in shape for your race. Listen to your body and be smart. Looking for a group to connect with to keep you motivated throughout your training cycle? Check out the Rally Columbus group on Facebook, it's full of cheer and motivation to keep you rolling through race day.
Get out during the event time frame (October 10-16) and participate in your race. Choose a safe course, socially distance properly as the current regulations dictate, and have some fun!

Support your Big Walnut Preschool, Elementary, Intermediate, Middle School, and High School PTOs. The goal of the PTOs is to enrich the students' educational experience by providing additional programs and materials that will enhance their curriculum, especially during a time when funding and programs have been eliminated. All registration proceeds benefit the PTOs, as well as any additional donations you make during the registration process. Thank you for your generosity.
You get to choose your own course. Always wish that your local race would run through that one super gorgeous park you love? Pick a scenic route there that allows you to be safe.
