Description
This challenge is not a tribute to an 80s movie, Poltergeist. It is a celebration of the late December event, when the light begins to show a little longer each day — the Winter Solstice. The official time of the Solstice in 2020 will be 8:30am on December 21st.
This time-of-year, we all need a little boost to drag us out for our dark, morning or evening runs. So channel your inner Druid, grab a vest and headlamp, and let's log some miles.
Here is the challenge: It is 87.4 miles (according to Google walk) from the Tower of London to Stonehenge. Cover this distance between December 3 and January 3, and you can celebrate the return of our beloved golden orb on the plains of Stonehenge.
The challenge is open until January 3, 2021, and is only $10 to enter, with $2 of your entry going to support Racing for Recovery. In order to maintain proper social distancing on the plains of Stonehenge, the field will be limited to 350 participants. Every entrant will receive a Dave's / Run Toledo neck gaiter to help stay warm. Everyone will have access to the online tracking, and possibly other humorous/interesting video content from the team.
Join in the challenge and help welcome the Sun back from its autumnal slumber.
