THE OFFICIAL TRAINING PROGRAM OF THE MERCY HEALTH GLASS CITY MARATHON
Dave's Marathon In-Training Program gives you the benefit of personal coaching through a training plan designed to get you ready to race and achieve your goal. The marathon and half marathon program will begin Monday, January 8th, 2024. The Mercy Health Glass City Marathon will be the goal event for all the programs offered. Each program will have different pace groups to meet individual needs and dedicated coaches to help out in each group. Come out and join hundreds of other runners who enjoy Training the Dave's Way!!!
REMOTE TRAINING OPTION (online)
Dave's Running Shop also offers a remote training program for those who may have a hectic schedule and need to run at different times or live too far away to make it to in-person training or those who may not feel comfortable in a group setting at this time. No matter the reason, Dave's Remote Training offers the same full program (online) with everything that the in-person program offers except for the official group workouts.
If you're looking to complete your first half-marathon, Dave's Running Shop will get you to the finish line with a detailed, 16-week training plan geared toward the Glass City Half-Marathon. This training plan will gradually build your mileage and assist you in getting used to the longer training runs incrementally, so you are ready to tackle the half marathon distance by race day.
Prior to the start of the training program, you will receive a welcome email regarding the logistics. Best of luck and thanks for allowing Dave's Running Shop the opportunity to coach you.

INDOOR TRACK WORKOUT
Perry Field House
You will meet on the BGSU indoor track on Tuesdays and continue for 10 weeks with the final day being March 12th at the Perry Field House on the Bowling Green State University campus. Here you will get out of the Ohio winter for a little track/speed work. After March 12th, the in-person program will meet at the Walt Churchill Track @ 6:30PM for the remainder of the session.
Practice Times (It will be alternating sessions so you aren't stuck either coming in early or staying late each week)
- Session 1—6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
- Session 2—7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
There is a locker room with showers located inside Perry Field House. These are available for daily use when you are there but no long-term storage of personal belongings is available.
SATURDAY LONG RUN
The most important part of any long distance training program is the long run. Every Saturday @ 8:00 AM, we will meet at varying locations throughout the Toledo area to complete the long mileage required for race day.
