WANT TO HELP LOCAL RESCUE DOGS WHILE HAVING A BLAST?!? THIS IS THE EVENT FOR YOU!!
Friends of Lucas County Dogs (FoLCD) is a volunteer organization 501(c)(3) not-for-profit with a mission to further support the dogs and staff of Lucas County Canine Care and Control (LC4). This 5k run/walk will celebrate the dogs of Lucas County and help us perform tasks to assist meeting our mission of helping local, homeless dogs. Such actions include the continuation of purchasing critical medical equipment for the shelter allowing the rescue dogs to become adoptable at the earliest possible date, and providing the dogs with Rescue University training and other enrichment while they stay at the shelter.
By participating, YOU will help us continue to fulfill our mission and make a difference in the lives of the dogs at LC4! The entry fee of $35 includes an awesome custom t-shirt (featuring a brand new design this year) and race medal! BUT, WAIT...THERE'S MORE! We are excited to announce the first 30 canine participants will receive a bandana, which features this year's t-shirt design!
Your friendly, leashed canine running/walking buddy is welcome to join you for the event! However, to promote the safety of participants and other dogs, retractable leashes are not permitted.
Participants can begin arriving at 8:00 AM to pick up their race swag, and the 5k will begin around 8:40 AM
Not ready for the doggone fun time to end?? You're in luck this year! Immediately following the fun run/walk, there is the return of the LC4 Alumni celebration this year! We invite adopters to bring their LC4 alum to Ottawa Park for fun activities with vendors and food trucks, along with a wonderful opportunity for these precious pups to reconnect with the LC4 staff and volunteers that provided tremendous care at a time of need. We will also be hosting costume and trick contests!
