Description
The Proyecto Mariposas is a non-profit organization that provides an environment of learning, sharing and support to Latina Girls and Women of Central Ohio. We began our journey on July 16th, 2011 with four girls and their mothers. Our vision has been to develop brave girls and strong women. Through our programs we build self-esteem, encourage risk taking and create a community of love and learning. We work with Latina girls ages 8-17 in Columbus, OH by providing activities that are focused on well being. We want our girls and mothers to be physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally healthy. The Valiente | Fuerte 5K will provide funding for our programing throughout the year. We do this by offering weekly meetings, mentors, summer camp, school supplies and necessary tools and/or resources.
