The Courageous 5k

On your mark.....Get set.....GO.....(VIRTUALLY)!

In an effort to create a new and exciting fundraising opportunity to assist Courageous Community Services in their continued efforts to provide support and advocacy to individuals with disabilities and their families in Northwest Ohio, while also keeping within safe parameters of the social distancing policies, we thought we would take on a new trend that is growing in popularity – A VIRTUAL 5K Race!

This race has a SUPERHERO THEME! Show us how courageous you have been during this time by participating in your best superhero getup! (Costumes are not required to participate, but we encourage it!)

Not for dressing up? Show us who you’re running for! Who do you know that has shown Super-heroic amounts of courage during this difficult time? Write their name on your race bib, and be sure to send us your race selfies so we can give them a SUPER SHOUT OUT!

How a virtual 5k works:

1. You register for the race that takes place entirely online (no in-person event).

2. Race bibs will be sent out digitally via email. We encourage you to attach the bib to your costume while participating and/or taking race selfies (but simply holding them up in the picture works, too!)

3. Then run/walk/roll/hop/skip/jump your way through 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) AND YOU HAVE A WHOLE MONTH TO DO IT! You can participate wherever you like: in your at-home gym, in your neighborhood, or at one of our beautiful Toledo Metroparks! Of course, we encourage all participants to respect 6-foot social distance recommendations if participating in public.

4. With the price of registration, each participant will receive a wooden race medal with our new logo!  Medals will be mailed out weekly. No-contact pick-up can be arranged if you are local, email Kelly Allen at KellyA@ccsohio.org for details.

We will not be tracking times or places, this is a FUN RUN! Everyone wins!
