Y Are You Running 5k?

100% for charity... 100% up to the top finishers to decide which cause!

Youngstown State University’s Honor’s College is happy to announce the holding of the second annual “Y Are You Running 5k,” which will be held on September 30th, 2018. This 3.1 mile course, run out of the WATTS and through campus will give runners a scenic tour of YSU, while providing a fun day of community bonding. The race’s goal is to raise money for local charity while bringing together our community for a day of fun, exciting exercise.

100% of profits from registration and sponsorships will be divided among the top male and female finishers who will decide what local charity they wish to each donate their winnings to. Last year’s race was able to bring around 200 runners and was successful in raising nearly $3,000 that went to Akron Children’s Mahoning County and the Midlothian Free Health Clinic.  

Additional prizes:

• Top Male and Female Finisher- $50 each and the choice of where to donate their half of the money raised to
• Medals for top finishers in each age bracket
• 2 Free raffle tickets upon registration
• President Tressel will be there to kick off the race and be the race chaser

Registration must be submitted by September 17th, in order to guarantee a shirt (moisture wicking t-shirt).

The race will be starting and finishing out of the Watson and Tressel Training Site on YSU’s campus. Parking for the event will be in the M90 lot (By The Flats Apartments)
Race day registration and online registration pick-up will be from 7:30 am. up until about 15 minutes before the start of the race at 9:00am, where President Tressel will be the race starter.
