Thank you SO much for registering to participate in the 2022 CYF You Matter 5K. It means the world that you want to support I Am a Warrior Against Suicide and be open about mental health.
The forecast for Sunday in Zanesville calls for a 70% chance of rain and thunderstorms. While our 5K will happen rain or shine, we have concerns about lightning in the event of a thunderstorm.
Our weather plan depending on what Mother Nature has in mind:
- If the storms are through by 10:00 AM, the race will proceed as planned with the start time of 12:00 PM.
-
- If it is storming at 10:00 AM but it looks like the rain may clear by midday, we will delay the race start time until 1:00 PM.
-
- However, if the storms are expected to roll through during the midday between 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM, then we will not have an in-person race. As stated in our registration, “if we are unable to safely hold an in-person race for any reason including COVID-19, we will automatically roll registrations to a non-refundable virtual event as opposed to rescheduling.”
You will have new information sent out to submit your results virtually. We are hoping the weatherman is wrong and the sun is shining brightly for our 5K!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email Race Director Christy Rahrig at
crahrig@mccf.org.
Hope to see you Sunday!
Sincerely,Christy Rahrig and Beth Ingram
