Hello Zanesville City Half Marathon, 5k and 1 milers!
WOW, what a start to 2020!
We as a committee have decided after MUCH thought and consideration to host a virtual race this fall. Our race is made possible due to the generosity of our local small business’, the partnership of the Health Department and many others who are currently navigating the impact of the global pandemic. We feel it is our responsibility at this time to assist them the best way we can, thus, the race will NOT be held in person, Saturday, September 12th 2020. Our primary concern is the safety of our participants, race volunteers, and community. We fully intend to host the race in 2021 and look forward to seeing all of you there!
We’ve identified three options for participants :
1. Participate in the Virtual Race: Complete the Zanesville Half Marathon, 5k or 1 mile between Sept 12th and 13th. Submit your results online through RunSignUp. We are not purchasing finisher medals this year, however, Participants will still receive a race t shirt. Registration will remain open leading up to the race this fall.
2. Donation: You can convert your registration to a donation.
3. Request a Refund
We ask that you select the option that fits you best by August 12th 2020 so we can plan accordingly
Proceeds from the virtual race will be directly deposited into the “Community Cares” fund at The Muskingum County Community Foundation.
What is the Community Cares Fund?
One of the best things about our community is our ability to move quickly to serve those in need. To help in times of crisis, The Muskingum County Community Foundation has established the "Community Cares" Fund.
Designed to support urgent needs in our area during emergency situations, this fund is currently focused on supporting the Muskingum County Hunger Network. Given the current health crisis, they are taxed even more as supply chains slow and the need for packing and delivering food has dramatically increased. This has added greater pressure to keep up with demand and delivery for food.
We appreciate your patience through this process, and we will continue to keep our participants and followers informed as we move forward. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me personally at the following email: hanna.luburgh@gmail.com
