Description
Virtual run for everyone! Tribal members and Non-Tribal members!
Each year the Language and Culture Program Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes travel to Sand Creek with a group of runners to run the course from the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site to the Colorado State Capital in remembrance of our Cheyenne and Arapaho ancestors. This year 2021, due to the pandemic and in order to keep people safe, the run has gone virtual. An in-person run is too risky and we must keep in mind the safety and health of our people. The Language and Culture Program encourages any and every one to join in and help us virtually run the 181 miles whether it be running and/or walking. All distances, running and walking are open, 1 mile, 5 miles, 10 miles, 20 miles, a marathon relay of individuals and teams. Runners/walkers must include a GPS record of their distance, date and time. All registered runners/walkers will receive a T-shirt for their participation. The T-shirts will be mailed to runner/walkers and any other swag participation incentives.
