Run on the Depot Green

Event Details: 

Date: Saturday, September 5th

Time: 8:00 am 

Location: The Depot Green (NW 2nd & Elgin) Muskogee, OK  

Distance: 5k and 5 miler   

Event Host: I:40 Race Service in cooperation with Muskogee Parks & Recreation

Awards & Shirts: Must sign up by August 28th to get a guareented shirt.  Medals will be awards to the top 3 M & F in each age group for the 5k and 5 Miler. 

What is the Depot Green?

The Depot Green is a new greenspace between 2nd and 3rd St in the Depot District in Muskogee.   The Centennial Trail has always ended at 4th St, but it is now extended though the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame parking lot, the Depot Green space, and then one more block East to Main St.  We are excited about the Run on Depot Green being one of the first events in this new space and will feature two new USATF certified courses.  Please sign up for the 5k or 5 miler and make this a fun part of your Labor Day Weekend.  

Social Distancing Policy:  We will use wave starts of 6 to 8 runners to start off the event, regardless of the current COVID numbers, so we can error on the side of caution.  We are planning on the start/finish line being in the greenspace area of the Depot Green, so wave starts will help since we starting on a 10 foot wide path.  We will also not have an awards ceremony afterwards to keep too large of groups from forming.   

Cancellation / Relocation / Virtual Run Policy:  The Depot Green construction is wrapping up in August, but should it be unavailable, we will start/finish in one of the completed parking lots to the east or west. We have every intent of having this event, but should this event be cancelled for any reason, the event will be transferred into a virtual run and all participants that complete the virtual run will be mailed a packet.
