"A child with Rett Syndrome is born every 2 hours."
The goal of the OKC River Run is to raise support and awareness for Rett Syndrome, which is a genetic disorder that affects mainly girls and severely impairs "nearly every aspect of the child’s life: their ability to speak, walk, eat, and even breathe easily." (https://www.rettsyndrome.org/about-rett-syndrome). The need for research is critical.
The OKC River Run is a USATF sanctioned and certified course along the picturesque Oklahoma River that provides a smooth, level, paved trail through downtown Oklahoma City free of vehicle traffic.
T-shirts will be provided for all registrations received by September 25, 2019. After this date, t-shirts can only be guaranteed as supplies and sizes are available.
Jogging/Racing Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome on the course but Both parties - runner and rider - must be registered for the race and have signed the liability waivers. Only the Runner/Walker need to pay the registration fees. The accompanied rider is free to participate. Register the runner/walker under the specific race event and the accompanied rider under the "Accompanied Rider" specific event. *(Please do not register the accompanied rider under the same name as the runner. Both need to sign the liability waivers even if the runner is the guardian for the rider.)
