Description
Join us for our First Annual 5K for a Cause, November 18th, 2017 at Airport Track in Shawnee, Oklahoma!
Runners: the starting line is located at Sister City Park on Airport Track, on the northwest corner of Independence and Airport Road behind Shawnee Pitstop.
This year, we will donate a portion of our proceeds to hurricane disaster relief for Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico is currently dealing with complete devastation. There is still little power on the island, there is no drinking water or clean water to bathe or flush toilets. There's limited food and cell service. Remote communities and villages have been completely cut off from everything for weeks. These people are American citizens that are not getting what they need to survive.
Here's how we can help: Register, donate, sponsor or share this event. Donations and a portion of the race proceeds will be delivered to Hispanic Federation. Hispanic Federation recently launched the Unidos Disaster Relief Fund to help raise money to meet hurricane and earthquake-related needs and recovery in Puerto Rico. 100% of contributions to Unidos goes to help the immediate and long-term recovery needs of children, families and communities in distress from the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
