Where: South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve Interpretive Center, 4 miles south of Charleston, 61907 Seven Devils Road
Course: Technical trails, boardwalks, hills (300’ change in elevation). Run where the river meets the sea, along vast tidal flats, extensive marshes and meandering channels.
Start times: 5k run/walk: 9:45 am, DOR Registration 8:30 - 9:30
Benefits: Proceeds from the event go to the Friends of South Slough Reserve, Inc., (FOSS) a non-profit organization in support of Reserve education fund for internship stipends.
Awards: Participation ribbons for Kid’s Dash, 1st-3rd place for each age group male/female (5k run/walk) with South Slough patches awarded to overall kids dash, 5k run and walk male and female winners. All participants receive an estuary-themed participation medal and Rice Krispy treat.
This year there will be a free lunch and music on the lawn!
Entry Fee: run/walk: $15.00 ($5.00 for SCRC members and students ages 13-17)
Facilities: Restrooms and water are available at the start/finish area.
